Topic: Sports Injuries 389: Climbing Injuries

Course Description: Climbing is an exciting & growing sport for athletes of both genders. Climbers are well conditioned athletes who can sustained a multitude of injuries. This course covers these injuries in detail. Mechanism of injury is discussed. Patient evaluation procedures such as consultation, examination and imaging are described. Clinical chiropractic applications and patient education is covered in this comprehensive class. Techniques to help athletes return to sport and prevent recurrence are taught.

Course Outline:

  • Common climbing injuries.
  • Application of diagnostic tools and clinical chiropractic applications.
  • Patient education strategies for prevention and rehabilitation of injuries.
  • Short and long-term recovery strategies for return to sport.

  • Develop an increased understanding of common climbing injuries.
  • Expand clinical knowledge to properly diagnose climbing injuries.
  • Enhance clinical knowledge to help athletes recover from injury.
  • Gain a heightened ability to apply prevention and rehabilitation strategies in helping athletes return to sport.

Donald A. Ozello, DC graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1995. He is the owner and treating doctor at Championship Chiropractic in Las Vegas, Nevada. His mission is to educate and inspire others to live healthier, fitter, more functional lives. He has a family practice but his passion is treating sports injuries.
