Topic: Sports Injuries 381: Elbow Conditions

Course Description: Elbow injuries may be season ending and career threatening. Athletes of all ages, sports and levels can acquire elbow conditions. This two hour class covers the anatomy and physiology of the elbow. The mechanism of injuries will be discussed in detail. The nuts and bolts of a thorough evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of the elbow will be covered. In-office chiropractic treatment strategies and patient education of sports related elbow conditions will be described. 

Course Outline: 

  • Detailed description of anatomy and physiology of the elbow.
  • Diagnostic tools to increase knowledge.
  • Patient education strategies for prevention and rehabilitation of elbow injuries.
  • Short and long-term training strategies to improve elbow function.

Learning Objectives:

  • Outline elbow anatomy and physiology
  • Discuss ways to prevent and rehabilitate elbow injuries
  • Apply skills in management of elbow injuries
  • Diagram exercise strategies in patient’s return to activity

Donald A. Ozello, DC graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1995. He is the owner and treating doctor at Championship Chiropractic in Las Vegas, Nevada. His mission is to educate and inspire others to live healthier, fitter, more functional lives. He has a family practice but his passion is treating sports injuries.
