Course Description: Childhood obesity is a current health issue affecting our youth. The short and long term ramifications are devastating to the health of today’s young people. This two hour continuing education course covers the statistics of childhood obesity and the possible causes. This comprehensive class teaches the doctor tools to help parents and children combat the formation and advancement of childhood obesity. The presentation contains information on how to use exercise, sports, lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation to prevent and reverse unwanted weight gain. These tools will help improve the health and fitness of young people.  

Course Outline: 

  • Description of the negative effects of obesity.
  • Explanation of possible sources of childhood obesity. 
  • Exercise, lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation strategies to prevent and reverse obesity.
  • Healthy and fun weight loss strategies for children.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a better understanding of the formation of childhood obesity.
  • Enhance clinical knowledge to diagnose and treat unwanted weight gain.
  • Application of tools in the treatment of young athletes.
  • Development of skills to better educate patients in the prevention and reversal of obesity.

Donald A. Ozello, DC graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1995. He is the owner and treating doctor at Championship Chiropractic in Las Vegas, Nevada. His mission is to educate and inspire others to live healthier, fitter, more functional lives. He has a family practice but his passion is treating sports injuries.
