Course Description: Athletes of all ages can suffer concussions. Young athletes may experience severe short term and long term symptoms. Brain trauma in youth athletics can possess long term negative sequela. This program begins with an in-depth review of anatomy and physiology of a young person’s brain as it relates to concussions. The class details the mechanism of injury and the causative factors. The program progresses to thoroughly review patient evaluation including consultation, examination and imaging. The class describes in-office chiropractic treatment and provides in-depth patient education tools for prevention and management. Nutritional and supplementation support of brain trauma is covered.
