Course Description: The 90’s were considered to be the “decade of the brain” in research. From the 2000’s forward the focus has continued to be in the neurosciences and especially higher cognitive function. With research comes conjecture, hypotheses, and opinions of how the brain functions and what that means from a clinical perspective. This presentation will provide the attendee with insight into some of the more entertaining myths and what they mean to us from a clinical perspective.

Course Outline:

  • The myth of using only 10% of our brain.
  • The myth of being right handed, creative and sleep deprivation
  • Myths about technology and food
  • Myths about thought, belief and mental illness

  • Further enhancement of our understanding of the human brain
  • Analyze past and present advances in neuroscience
  • Critically evaluate beliefs and science as they relate to brain function
  • Enhance clinical skills thru better understanding of brain health

Dr. Michael W. Hall is a 1990 graduate with honors from Parker College of Chiropractic. He began clinical practice immediately after graduation while also entering post-graduate programs in clinical neurology and orthopedics. He received his diplomate in clinical neurology from the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology in 1993. He was later awarded a fellow in clinical neurology by the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology. For the past three decades Dr. Hall has entertained and educated thousands with enthusiastic passion for chiropractic and clinical neurology. It is his vision that all peoples may experience the healing art of chiropractic.  He has published research, served on scientific and advisory panels, and lectured around the world. His program, “Functional Neurology for the Practicing Chiropractor” is renowned throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. He speaks for the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association as well as many state, national and international associations.
