Course Description: Exercises to increase foot, ankle and lower leg strength, mobility and stability are necessary for lifelong sports participation. Foot, ankle and lower leg injuries are common in all sports. The injuries are performance limiting conditions and have a high recurrence rate. Proper rehabilitation is vital. This course contains a review of anatomy and physiology of the foot, ankle and lower leg. The two-hour class details exercises to prevent and rehabilitate foot, ankle and lower leg injuries. The program describes in-depth patient education strategies in prevention and rehabilitation of foot, ankle and lower leg injuries.

Course Outline:

  • Detailed description of anatomy and physiology of the foot, ankle and lower leg.
  • Exercises to prevent and rehabilitate injuries to the foot, ankle and lower leg.
  • Patient education strategies for recovery of foot, ankle and lower leg conditions.
  • Chiropractic extremity adjusting techniques.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review knowledge of foot, ankle and lower leg anatomy and physiology.
  • Develop tools to prevent and rehabilitate foot, ankle and lower leg injuries.
  • Apply skills in the chiropractic management of foot, ankle and lower leg injuries.
  • Outline strategies to develop and maintain lifelong foot, ankle and lower leg health.
