Course Description: Basketball is enjoyed by athletes of various ages and both genders. Basketball players are well conditioned athletes who may experience a plethora of injuries. This course covers common basketball injuries, as well as anatomy of injured areas and their mechanism of injury will be discussed. Patient evaluation procedures will be described, and clinical chiropractic applications and patient education will be covered. Techniques to return athletes to sport and prevent recurrence will be outlined.


Course Outline:

  • Detailed description of common basketball injuries.
  • Application of diagnostic tools and clinical chiropractic treatment applications.
  • Patient education strategies for prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Short-term and long-term recovery strategies for return to sport.

  • Review common basketball injuries.
  • Outline proper diagnoses of sports injuries.
  • Diagram techniques to help basketball players recover from injury.
  • Discuss prevention and rehabilitation strategies in helping athletes return to sport.
