Course Description: Hand and thumb injuries are common sports injuries that can derail training & competition for athletes of numerous sports. In this two-hour course we will discuss anatomy, mechanism of injury, contributing factors, symptoms, prevention, and the rehabilitation of common hand and thumb injuries. There will be demonstrations of Chiropractic extremity adjusting for the hand and thumb, as well as patient education for prevention and rehabilitation of sports related hand and thumb conditions.

 

Course Outline:

Present a detailed description of hand and thumb anatomy.

Review in-office chiropractic diagnostic tools.

Chiropractic extremity adjusting techniques.

Strategies for prevention and rehabilitation of hand and thumb injuries.

 

Learning Objectives:

Review hand and thumb anatomy and physiology.

Apply clinical knowledge to properly diagnose hand and thumb conditions.

Discuss chiropractic management of sports related hand and thumb injuries.

Outline proper implementation of exercise strategies in prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries.
